What is the form of greeting in Nepal?The form of greeting in Nepal is "Namaste" and is performed by joining the palms together.
What is the customs formality at the airport?All baggage must be declared and cleared through the customs on arrival at the entry. Personal effects are permitted free entry. A tourist may bring in dutiable goods, such as tobacco and liquor, within the prescribed quantity free of duty. Carrying narcotics, arms and ammunition are strictly prohibited. Visitors can export souvenirs to their respective countries. The export of antiques requires a special certificate from the Department of Archeology.
What are the rules on currency exchange?Foreign currencies must be exchanged only through the banks or authorized foreign exchange dealers. The receipts from such transaction are to be obtained and retained. Visitors can also exchange money at the foreign exchange counter at the airport upon arrival. Credit cards like American Express, Visa and Master Cards are accepted. Convertible currencies are as follows: Dollar -Australian, Canadian, Hong Kong, US, Singapore; Franc -Belgium, French, Swiss; Kroner - Danish, Swedish; Austrian Shilling, German Mark, Italian Lira, Japanese Yen, Netherlands Guilder and Sterling Pound.

What is the price range of hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara?Depending on the traveler's budget, all sorts of hotels are available in Nepal, from affordable lodges, $7-$11 per night with basic facilities, to Hotels with a standard night costing $14-$38 and "luxury" hotels between $95 -$280.
What is the average money spent on food and drinking per day?The average budget traveler can plan on $09- $13 , covering a day's eating and drinking. In general one can eat freely in Nepal and drinking purified bottled water is always a good idea.

What are the Entry Procedures & Visa Rules ?Gratis visa for all tourists who visit Nepal for 3 days or less.
Gratis visa for tourists of SAARC countries and People's Republic of China.
Visa Fee:
Single entry - US$ 30 for 60 days
Multiple entry - US$ 50 + US$ 30.
Visa will be extended subsequently for 30 days each upon payment of US$ 30 for a maximum period of 150 days in a visa year (Jan-Dec). Visa can be obtained either on arrival in Nepal or from Nepalese Embassy or Consulate or other Mission offices abroad. Two passport size photographs required. Indians do not require visa to visit Nepal. However, they require to be in possession of any one of the following documents while travelling between the two countries.
- Valid national passport
- Photo identity card issued by the government of India/any State Government or Union Territory/Administration in India/Identity Cards issued by the Election Commission of India. (Except Tatkal Identity Cards issued by the Ministry of Railways).
- Children between 10-18 years age group are allowed to travel by air on the strength of a passport or photo identity card issued by the Principal of their school or college.
- Emergency Certificate issued by Embassy of India, Kathmandu to Indian nationals in case of emergent conditions.
- Children up to the age of 10 years will not require the above-mentioned documents for travelling between India and Nepal, by air.

How do I get from the Airport to downtown Kathmandu? The Airport Queue Taxi Service Management Committee (AQTSMC); taxis with fixed rates. The AQTSMC is on the ground floor of the airport. Also, like most countries there are 'other' taxis, you will need to decide on a price before you get in. From the Airport to the main tourist area, Thamel, is around 8km and should cost under $2.
What are the things to do for recreation?There's a wide variety of options open for especially adventure lovers as they can indulge themselves in water rafting, trekking, bungee-jumping, Para-gliding and many others and for nature lovers you can go for bird-watching, mountain flight etc etc.
How is the weather condition in Nepal?
